A ver, la primera vez que me quedé en el Regency, fue…un poco accidentada. (¡Pero, eh! ¡La vida es así!) Llegué cansado, después de un viaje infernal. ¡La entrada fue un poco lenta! (¡Como que la recepcionista no entendía mi nombre!) (¡Y ya sabes, cuando estás cansado cualquier cosa es un drama!) La habitación, al principio, olía a…nada especial. ¡Pero! ¡La cama era MUY cómoda! (Extra long bed) (¡Y eso es lo importante!) (¡Después de un día de viajar, te mereces una cama de lujo!). El Wi-Fi funcionaba, ¡milagro! (Wi-Fi [free]), y me pude poner al día con mis series. (¡Que, por cierto, era la mejor manera de relajarme!)
¡El desayuno… (Breakfast [buffet]). ¡No me acuerdo de nada en especial! (¡Creo que fue normalito!) (Pero al menos, no me envenenó!) ¡Lo importante es que tenía café!
¡Y me di un chapuzón en la piscina! (Swimming pool [outdoor]) ¡Refrescante! ¡La vista no era espectacular… pero no estaba mal para ser Beaumont! (Pool with view).

- 12:00 - Lunch at a Waterfront Restaurant: Fresh seafood, finally! And a gorgeous view. The heat was still brutal but manageable. The waitress was kind and helped me decide the best thing on the menu.
- 14:00 - Texas Energy Museum: This place blew my mind, as I learned about the history of oil! The museum itself was quite old, but it was a fun experience.

¡Ja! Bueno… “el mejor”… eso es como decir “el mejor helado del universo”. Depende del día, del antojo, de la suerte… y un poco de lo que estés buscando en Beaumont, Texas. No te voy a mentir, he visto hoteles. He vivido en hoteles (por trabajo, no porque fuera millonaria, por desgracia). Y el Regency, a ver, no es el Ritz, ¿okay? Pero tiene su encanto.
A ver, lo bueno: normalmente limpio (ojo, "normalmente," que a veces… digamos que el personal de limpieza tiene sus días). El desayuno es… bueno, es gratis, y hay waffles. ¡Waffles! (Aunque el café, a veces es un poco… aguado. Trae tu propio café soluble, te lo digo yo). La piscina está bien, normalmente. Y, para ser sinceros, la ubicación no está mal. Cerca de un montón de sitios.
¿"El mejor"? Quizás no. ¿Un lugar decente, con una buena relación calidad-precio? Probablemente. ¡Pero no me lo tomes a pie juntillas!
¿Hay Wi-Fi? Porque necesito Internet para… (suspiro) trabajar.

Las vistas… ¡ay, las vistas! Dependen de la habitación. Una vez me dieron una con *vistas a un contenedor de basura* (literalmente). Fue… pintoresco. Otras veces, he tenido vistas a la piscina (cuando está limpia, lo cual es un bonus). Si las vistas son cruciales para ti (y a veces, lo son), intenta solicitar una habitación específica. No prometo nada, pero… vale la pena intentarlo.
Pero ojo, una vez ¡me encontré como un pelo en la cama! ¡No, no, no, no me entendáis mal! No era mío... eso me dio como un pequeño... escalofrío. Llamé a recepción y lo solucionaron rápido, pero... eso te hace cuestionarte la limpieza de la habitación, ¿sabes?
El desayuno… ¿merece la pena? ¿Hay algo más que café aguado y waffles?
¡Ah, el desayuno! Volvemos a eso. Mira, es *gratis*. Eso ya es un punto a favor. Hay waffles (lo dije, pero lo repito, ¡waffles!). Generalmente, también hay cereales, fruta (a veces, un poco… “madura” para mi gusto), yogur, pan tostado y opciones calientes básicas (huevos y salchichas).
El problema, como mencioné, es el café. Es… bueno, es… ¿cómo decirlo sin ofender? Débil. Muy débil. Si eres un adicto al café como yo, trae tu propio café soluble, o una cafetera portátil (sí, lo he hecho. No me avergüenzo).
La calidad varía. Un día puede ser un festín (dentro de lo que cabe), y otro día… bueno, alimenta. No esperes alta cocina, pero para empezar el día, cumple su cometido. Y gratis, ¡recuerda!
¿Y la piscina? ¿Es… usable? ¿Limpia? ¿Hay niños gritando?
¡La piscina! Esa zona de relajación, o… no tanto. La piscina está *allí*. Es decir, está. Es… usable. A veces. Depende.
La limpieza… bueno, digamos que varía. A veces está reluciente. Otras veces… (suspiro). He visto de todo. Hojas, insectos… una vez, ¡una rana! Una rana grande, verde, nadando plácidamente. Fue… surrealista. Por lo general, está decente, pero echa un vistazo antes de meterte.
¿Niños gritando? ¡Por supuesto! Es un hotel, ¿qué esperabas? El ruido es parte del paquete. Si buscas paz y tranquilidad, quizás este no sea tu lugar. O, lleva tapones para los oídos y reza por que no haya una fiesta de cumpleaños infantil. Eso sí que es un desafío existencial.
¿Aceptan mascotas? Porque mi perrito, Fido, es como mi hijo (literalmente).
¡Ah, los amigos peludos! (Adoro a los perros, por cierto). Revisa las políticas del hotel directamento, pero... creo que sí, aceptan mascotas, **PERO** ojo, con ciertas condiciones y posiblemente con un cargo extra.
Llama antes de reservar y pregunta específicamente para evitar sorpresas desagradables. No querrás llegar con Fido, que te digan que no lo aceptan y tener que buscar otro hotel en el último momento. ¡Imagínate el caos! Asegúrate de preguntar sobre el tamaño máximo, razas permitidas, y las zonas donde se pueden pasear a las mascotas. ¡Hay reglas!
Y, por favor, ¡recoge las cacas! Por el bien de todos, y por el bien de la reputación de Fido.
