¡Dormir a 10 min de UGM y UNY! ¡Reserva YA tu cama!

Okay, buckle up, buttercup, because we're diving HEADFIRST into a review of ¡Dormir a 10 min de UGM y UNY! ¡Reserva YA tu cama!. Seriously, the name's a mouthful, but the promise? Well, that's what we're here for. Let's see if it delivers on the "dormir" part (sleeping) and the whole "10 minutes to UGM and UNY" deal.

Let's get REAL, shall we? This isn't going to be one of those robotic, bullet-pointed reviews. I'm a human, with opinions, and I NEED my sleep. So, consider this your brutally honest, slightly messy, and hopefully helpful guide.

First Impressions: Location, Location, Location! (and the Hype)

The big sell here is clearly, location, location, location. Ten minutes from UGM and UNY? HOLY MOLY, that's gold dust for students, professors, and anyone who's had to wrestle with Yogyakarta traffic. Forget long, soul-crushing commutes. You're talking a lazy breakfast, a quick walk, and BOOM, you're at class (or, you know, a cafe, I won't judge). This is HUGE. Seriously, that alone almost makes me book a room right now. (But, you know, gotta finish this review first).

Accessibility (Because Everyone Deserves a Good Stay):

  • Wheelchair Accessible: We need more details here. Is the entire property accessible, or just certain rooms? Ramps? Elevators? This is a must-have for inclusivity.
  • Facilities for Disabled Guests: Similar to the above. Are there grab bars? Adapted bathrooms? Let's get specific, people!
  • Elevator: Good. This is a must if multiple stories.
  • Access: We need to know if there is any restriction on the entryways

Internet & Tech Stuff: (Because, Let's Face It, We're All Glued to Our Screens)

Things to Do & Ways to Relax (Because Life Shouldn't Be All Work and No Play):

Okay, this is where things get interesting (and, potentially, disappointing. fingers crossed).

  • Pool with View: Sounds amazing. Is it really a view, or just, you know, a view of the parking lot? (I've seen it happen).
  • Swimming pool [outdoor]: Perfect! Is it big enough to actually swim? (Or just a glorified kiddie pool?)

  • Massage: Yes, please!
  • Sauna/Spa/Steamroom: Sounds GREAT.
  • Foot bath: Weirdly tempting! Especially after a long day of trekking around Jogja.
  • Body scrub/Body wrap: Now we're talking!

Cleanliness and Safety: (Because Sleep is Useless in a Dirty Place)

This is CRUCIAL, especially these days. I'm talking about feeling SAFE and COMFORTABLE. Did the smell of disinfectant fill the air, or did I have to wonder if they had cleaned at all? Any signs of the precautions?

Bed in Dormitory Room - 10 mins to UGM, UNY Indonesia

¡Ay, Dios mío! Here we go. My attempt at a Java-infused adventure, fuelled by instant noodles and questionable street food. It’s gonna be a wild ride, buckle up!

Mi Itinerario (a.k.a. The Slightly-Unplanned Adventure)

Día 1: Llegada, Caos, and the Promise of Gudeg (and Possibly Existential Dread)

  • Mañana (Well, Technically Afternoon): Llegada al Aeropuerto Internacional Adisutjipto (JOG). Let the adventure begin! (Or, you know, the sweaty, long wait in the passport line. Pray for air conditioning!). Okay, okay, everything is good until I step out into the Javanese heat, it hit me like a humid brick wall. Dios mio, necesito agua!
  • Afternoon: Taxi to my "bed in dormitory room" – 10 mins to UGM and UNY. Oh, this dormitory thing… I hope I’m not sharing with a snorer. My Spanish is only so-so, how am I going to communicate with other people?
  • Late Afternoon: Check-in. (Pray no bed bugs, pray no bed bugs…). The room is…basic. Alright, it’s very basic. But hey, it’s cheap! And on the way out of the taxi, the driver had a small chat with me, so I got a good vibe about people here.
  • Evening: Gudeg hunt! This is the REAL reason I came. Searching for the best Gudeg in town. All the reviews said the most perfect Gudeg is at Jalan Wijilan, so, that's it. Let's go! ¡Espero que no me de diarrea! (Fingers crossed, because that's always a risk with street food, am I right?). I found the hidden gem of the place with Gudeg Yu Djum. It's the most famous one, it was the best!!! I even bought some to eat later!
  • Night: Strolling around the vibrant night market near Alun-Alun Kidul. I'm sure I'm going to get lost. That's a given. Maybe I'll try that "masquerade" where they put you blindfolded between two trees. Sounds like a great plan to get lost, but let's go! And I'll try to make some friends, maybe? Ahh, the things you do when you're on your own… (Also, secretly hoping I stumble upon a warung with some good strong coffee. I. Need. Caffeine.). It was a mess, but a beautiful one, as always.

Día 2: Borobudur, Bumpy Roads, and the Pursuit of Inner Peace (Or At Least a Good Picture)

  • Sunrise (Or, Attempted Sunrise): Early wake-up call for Borobudur! Seriously, getting up early is the hardest thing in this trip. It's going to be gorgeous, everyone says so. Espero que no llueva. (Hoping for sunshine, because, let's be honest, wet temples are less majestic).
  • Mañana: The bus ride to Borobudur… Oh, the bus ride. Cramped, smelly, and probably using the same suspension system as a donkey cart. But hey, it's part of the authentic experience! (And cheaper than a private car, thank god).
  • Late Mañana: Borobudur! Standing there, staring at this magnificent Buddhist monument… it's breathtaking. Absolutely. I'll try to find some good angles for pictures. ¡Qué impresionante! I can spend hours there, just soaking it all in. And maybe, just maybe, understanding a tiny, tiny bit of Buddhism. Or at least getting a decent Instagram post.
  • Afternoon: Back to Yogyakarta by bus! Ugh, this is really becoming a challenge. This time, I'll make sure to bring some extra water and a book(Hopefully, I'll be able to focus on the words, instead of the people around me).
  • Before Night: Stroll around Malioboro Street. This is actually a tourist trap, but hey, I'm a tourist! Let's get some souvenirs, bargain for everything, and try not to look like a total idiot. Okay, the street has been flooded with people, almost impossible to walk, but the atmosphere…it's everything. Every single person, scooter, vendor, and vehicle has its own story.
  • Noche: "Dinner" (probably noodles again) and then collapse in my bed. ¡Necesito dormir! (I need to sleep!).

Día 3: Sultan's Palace, Water Castles, and the Art of Doing Nothing (and Maybe Laundry)

  • Mañana: Visiting the Kraton (Sultan's Palace). More history, more culture! (And hopefully, less humidity). I hope I don't embarrass myself. I should at least read something about what's this place about.
  • Late Mañana: Taman Sari (Water Castle). More beautiful architecture! Time to wander around, feel like a Sultan, and attempt to take some artsy pictures.
  • Afternoon: Free time! Laundry? (Probably. I'm running out of clean clothes!). Maybe visit a local cafe and attempt to read my book. Or maybe I'll just stare at the ceiling. It depends on my mood.
  • Evening: Farewell dinner! Trying to find a place with live music. And maybe, just maybe, I'll try some local spirits. (But not too much, gotta keep it together!). Maybe, just maybe I'll manage to talk with some of the people over there, who knows? And probably will share a moment together.
  • Noche (Before Leaving): Packing… Sigh. It's always the worst part.

Día 4: Adios Yogyakarta (And Back to Reality)

  • Mañana: Last-minute souvenir shopping (because I always leave it until the last minute!). Saying goodbye to the city.
  • Late Mañana: Flight Home. ¡Hasta luego, Yogyakarta!

Imperfect Imperfections & Ramblings:

  • The Food: I'm eating ALL the street food. My stomach will probably rebel. But hey, YOLO, right? I feel like I'm losing weight and putting on weight at the same time.
  • The Language Barrier: My Spanish is better than my Indonesian, which is… non-existent. Expect many awkward hand gestures and misinterpreted conversations.
  • The Humidity: It's a constant battle. My hair is a frizzy mess. I'm constantly sweating. But. It. Is. Worth. It. I have to shower around 5 times a day.
  • Loneliness: There might be moments of loneliness. Being by myself is a challenge. But I have to remind myself that this is MY adventure, my time to reflect, and grow.
  • The Unexpected: Something will go wrong. Something always does. That's part of the fun, right? My passport will be lost. I'll lose some money. But that's another story.
  • Emotional Peaks and Valleys: I'm going to feel everything – joy, frustration, awe, boredom. It's all part of the rollercoaster. And I'm here to ride it!

In Conclusion: This is going to be an epic, messy, beautiful adventure. I might come back with a few extra pounds, a questionable stomach, and a whole lot of stories to tell. Wish me luck! ¡Vamos! (And someone, please remind me to pack sunscreen!).

Bed in Dormitory Room - 10 mins to UGM, UNY Indonesia

¿Qué, qué, qué es esto de "Dormir a 10 min de UGM y UNY"? ¿Es un albergue? ¿Un motel? ¡No entiendo!

¡Ay, amigo/a, respira!

¿Asaltos a medianoche? ¿Fantasmas estudiantiles?

¡no puedo sobrevivir!

"experimental". Literalmente, a veces funcionaba, a veces no. Me volví loco. ¡Necesitaba enviar un correo urgente! ¡Horror!

"sociables". ¡Fiestas hasta las 4 de la mañana! Casi me vuelvo loco. No pude dormir.

¿A quién llamo?
